Full Time Engineer Position

The Westin Tempe is looking for a full time engineer to join our amazing engineering team! Hours/shifts include am/pm availability, including weekends and holidays. An engineer takes part in servicing our guests around our beautiful hotel and you'll be part of a great team of helpful people who are passionate about delivering exceptional service. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. An engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.

Required skills and abilities include the ability to communicate in English, a self-starting personality with an even disposition, maintaining a professional appearance and manner at all times, communicating well with guests, willingness to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player, climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs, and ability to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.

Performance standards include customer satisfaction, work habits, and safety & security. Customer satisfaction is essential to a positive guest experience. Work habits should meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. Adaptability to change in work area and hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever unsure how to do something. Safety and security of guests and associates is of utmost importance. Adherence to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
