As Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision and management of the food service area and will supervise and manage all kitchen/food services staff to include Job Corps Staff, Work-Based Learning Staff and Leisure Time Student Workers.
Responsibilities include managing and overseeing the overall Center food preparation activities, managing the dining room, ensuring quality control, planning menus, coordinating food purchases, managing food services budget, overseeing food preparation for special functions, researching, developing and recommending new menu items, coordinating the preparation and availability of box lunches, ensuring compliance with all USDOL and Job Corps guidelines, participating as an active member of the Centers HEALs Committee, ensuring sanitation compliance, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, operating the evening snack program, conducting student surveys, meeting with SGA per company policy, providing superior customer service, ensuring all staff adhere to rest and meal break requirements, transporting students to and from Center, interviewing and recommending for hire, disciplining and evaluating performance of direct report staff, filling staff vacancies in a timely manner, motivating, empowering and requiring staff to perform job responsibilities, employing sound time-management and delegation skills, holding staff accountable for producing quality work, developing staff for career progression and disciplining staff that fail to meet goals, providing required/supplemental training for new and current employees, motivating and managing staff to work effectively, creating a supportive work environment, recognizing staff accomplishments and proactively addressing staff performance concerns, mentoring, monitoring and modeling the Career Success Standards, providing high-quality supervision and management for the student population, taking swift and appropriate action and positively influencing student behavior, showing respect and courtesy to students and holding them accountable for their actions and behavior, providing quality services for students and ensuring that quality is maintained and student needs are met, pursuing improvement and enhancement requisite services, exchanging ideas and information, and working in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
Qualifications include an Associates Degree from an accredited school and one year of management/supervisory experience, degree requirement may be substituted with 5 years Food Service Supervisory Experience, three to five years in institutional food preparation and technical training preferred, must have or be able to obtain ServSafe credentials, and physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
