Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer's site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Avondale, AZ. We offer a sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay, and benefits!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
  • In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
    • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience
    • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
    • Basic Diesel Engine experience
    • Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
    • Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation

    Qualifications:

    • Controls, Transfer Switch, Networking, Start-up Experience Required
    • Monthly On Call Rotation
    • Engine experience preferred
    • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
    • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
    • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
    • A current valid license is required for this role
    • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
    • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
    • 3 years driving experience
    • This role requires applicant to be 21 years of age

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    • Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
    • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
    • Current relevant electrical certification
    • Locally valid driving permit

    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    • Basic level field service work experience
    • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
    • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience
    • Customer service experience

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Base Salary rate commensurate with experience.
