Role Purpose

The Equipment Engineering Manager leads the project engineering team to support manufacturing operations, optimize equipment performance, and execute strategic capital plans. This role ensures compliance with engineering best practices, oversees project delivery, and develops engineering talent. The manager drives long-term planning, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve plant objectives and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop engineering teams to improve processes, equipment performance, and plant capability while ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle: oversee inventory, maintenance records, inspections, troubleshooting, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Drive capital planning and procurement: recommend, purchase, and budget for new or replacement equipment; coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance.
  • Establish and enforce policies for efficient equipment operation and change control management.
  • Mentor and train staff on proper equipment use and technical problem-solving; champion scientific methods for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to execute plant engineering strategy and achieve operational goals.
  • Lead and/or direct engineering resources in the development and improvement of processes and equipment.
  • Achieve low cost manufacturing, superior quality/service and improved capability/capacity.

Education & Experience

Bachelors of Science in engineering or BS in another technical area required. Advanced degree in engineering or business a plus. 8-10 years of manufacturing experience including at least 5 in production operations and 2 years as a 2nd level supervisor. 2 years of experience in project management. Experience in new product development a plus. Demonstrated track record (Performance Results and People Development). Six-Sigma Green Belt or higher certification. Solid understanding/experience with DMAIC processes. Experience managing the talent development strategy for the department, including programs to attract, develop and retain key talent.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $110,477.00 - $151,906.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
