Leads DO-178C documentation planning, development, and compliance execution for software embedded in multi-discipline defense training solutions. Partners with Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test, and Program Management to ensure rigorous requirements, design assurance, verification, traceability, configuration management, and certification readiness aligned to DO-178C and related aerospace/defense standards.

Responsibilities/Skills:

DO-178C Compliance Leadership:

Lead the creation and maintenance of DO-178C lifecycle data, ensuring completeness, consistency, and audit readiness.

Define and maintain compliance strategy, including planning, standards alignment, review gates, and evidence collection.

Own/drive the traceability chain across high-level requirements, low-level requirements, design, code, verification results.

Establish and enforce documentation quality criteria (formatting, review checklists, objective evidence expectations, independence expectations where applicable).

Documentation & Lifecycle Data Development:

Author and maintain DO-178C deliverables appropriate to the program, such as:

PSAC (as applicable)

SDP, SVP, SCMP, SQAP (or equivalent plans)

Requirements and design artifacts (HRS/SRS/SDD-style as used internally)

Verification procedures, verification results, RTM/trace matrices, problem reports

SOI readiness packages and audit support artifacts

Coordinate cross-functional reviews (Systems, SW, Test, QA) and drive disposition to Verification & Evidence Readiness

Partner with Test/Verification to ensure test cases and procedures satisfy DO-178C objectives, including requirements-based testing and structural coverage expectations (as applicable).

Cross-Functional Program Support:

Support program planning and execution activities: schedules, risk management, certification milestones, and customer interactions.

Participate in technical interchange meetings and audits; present compliance status, gaps, and closure plans.
