Driver Position

Reliable driver with a friendly attitude is needed to pick up and deliver bins. Must possess the ability to lift 50 lbs and push 300 lbs in rolling bins and walk long distances. We are looking for a patient, flexible and dedicated person to work with, train and supervise a fantastic team of adults with disabilities. Daily duties of this position include providing top of the line services for the individuals on the team while providing quality service to the customers we serve.

Duties and responsibilities include ensuring that routine maintenance is performed, and that vehicle is in safe running order, ensuring the vehicle inspection as outlined in the Beacon Driver\'s manual is being completed, reporting any problems immediately to Supervisor and/or Fleet Department when needed, ensuring that vehicle mileage forms are completed on a daily basis, ensuring a clean vehicle, operating vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with local and state laws, ensuring all passengers wear seat belts, reporting and recording accidents in a timely manner to supervisor, knowing the location of first aid kit, fire extinguisher, personal protection kit, and roadside triangles, coaching and mentoring clients, supervising and monitoring clients at all times, helping new Job Coaches to mentor and teach, reinforcing and assisting with appropriate work attitudes, behaviors and daily living skills, fostering and promoting a positive image of community placement, mentoring the new Job Coach to adhere to Beacon Group\'s philosophy of using patience and sensitivity when dealing with clients, utilizing a positive approach in any situation, completing and training on how to complete Internal Monthly Progress Reports on each individual, reporting any concerns regarding a client to the appropriate Program Manager, maintaining good communication with parents, group home staff, DDD Support Coordinators/Vocational Rehabilitation case managers, etc., regarding any situation that might affect any individual, assisting with the development of individual service program plans, giving input regarding strengths, needs objectives, long-term goals, job skills and chart client objectives, implementing the individual Support Plan and Behavior Treatment plan as written, maintaining an updated substitute manual for the department, assuring pertinent employee information is available, training and supervising substitute as assigned, completing and training other on incident reports in accordance with Beacon Group policy, participating in and/or conducting time studies at work sites, accurately inputting MITC daily entries, assisting and participating in and/or conducting time studies at assigned work sites, reviewing daily pick-up tickets and preparing the truck to service the route, responsible for picking up various confidential and recycle materials from customer\'s locations in accordance with NAID and other industry standards and requirements, responsible for completing daily vehicle and equipment maintenance check list and keeping the vehicles properly fueled and clean at all times, responsible for ensuring all bins and consoles are clean and free of paper prior to loading onto the truck, responsible for obtaining required signatures from the customers after performing the daily service.
