Advanced Systems Engineer

The Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety (RMSS) Engineering organization has a need for an Advanced Systems Engineer to perform reliability and system safety engineering activities on multiple propulsion engine and APU programs. The successful candidate will have ownership for reliability and system safety at every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the engine and APU development teams to drive growth and reach critical business milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Authoring and ensuring development process follows system safety program plans
• Reliability analysis – Allocations to define requirements
• Functional hazard analysis
• Failure conditions requirements analysis
• Safety requirements decomposition
• Model based development system design
• Systems integration
• Reliability predictions throughout design process
• Failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA)
• Safety requirements validation & verification
• Aftermarket safety analysis and reliability metrics tracking
• Customer interaction
• Project coordination within a team and/or leading a small team of RMSS engineers

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering
• At least 3 years of engineering experience

• Demonstrated experience in system safety analysis per ARP4761 and/or MIL-STD-882
• Knowledge of systems development lifecycle
• Experience in the design, development, manufacture, and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex electro-mechanical aerospace systems
