Game Operations Engineer

The Game Operations Engineer is a role within the Game Operations team for professionals who have built strong release, configuration, and live operations experience and are ready to tackle greater technical ownership. This role is responsible for the technical execution, stability, and continuous improvement of game launch processes, content distribution, configuration management, and tools supporting operations across multiple sectors and operator environments. As a Game Operations Engineer, you will play a more hands-on role in release execution, environment readiness, script troubleshooting, and process improvement. This position is crafted for individuals aiming to deepen their technical expertise. They will also increase their impact on live operations and help improve the reliability and expansion capacity of game delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the technical management of game releases, patches, hotfixes, and configuration updates across multiple environments, ensuring accuracy, stability, and deployment readiness.
  • Handle and validate game configurations, including metadata, feature parameters, stakes, and environment-specific settings, to ensure compliance with product, market, and technical requirements.
  • Support live operations by maintaining reliable release processes and ensuring production updates are applied with minimal disruption.
  • Enable and distribute third-party and in-house content in line with release schedules, platform dependencies, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical support for new market and operator integrations by preparing configurations, validating release readiness, and resolving environment or deployment-related issues.
  • Maintain, solve, and improve distribution scripts and operational tooling used for content enablement and release execution.
  • Monitor release flows, systems, and operational processes to identify failures, inconsistencies, or risks and act quickly to resolve them.
  • Investigate technical and operational issues in live and pre-release environments, determine underlying causes, and apply corrective improvements.
  • Give to automation, process optimization, and tooling enhancements that improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of release and content distribution activities.

Teamwork & Reporting

  • Work closely with Development, QA, Product, and Game Operations team members to ensure technical readiness for releases, updates, and integrations.
  • Provide technical feedback during release preparation, issue analysis, validation activities, and post-release support.
  • Raise technical risks, blockers, and production-impacting issues to the relevant internal teams in a timely and structured way.
  • Collaborate with peers across operations and engineering to improve release quality, operational standards, and tooling capability.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in game operations, release engineering, technical operations, content distribution, or a similar role within gaming, iGaming, or a digital content environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience with game/content releases, configuration management, deployment activities, and live operational support.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages including PowerShell, and exposure to programming languages like C#, for automation, tooling, or operational support tasks.
  • Strong solving and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
  • Experience monitoring systems, validating release outcomes, and supporting stable production operations.
  • High attention to detail and a strict approach to release quality, configuration accuracy, and operational reliability.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical tasks, and handle priorities reliably in a fast-paced live environment.
  • An attitude focused on continuous improvement, automation, and building more efficient operational processes over time.
  • Flexibility to support release windows, urgent fixes, and operational incidents when required.
