Junior Associate, Lab Operations

Argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

For the expansion of our lab team, argenx is looking for a Junior Associate, Lab Operations. This position requires a daily on-site presence in the office/labs in Zwijnaarde (Ghent, Belgium). In addition to your CV, we would like to receive a short and clear motivation for this role.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

In close collaboration with your team members and laboratory supervisors, you will provide crucial support to lab operations by:

  • Coordinating ULT-team activities: meetings, supplier liaison, inventory management, and portal updates.
  • Supporting ULT emergency operations through training, job aid maintenance, and alarm back-up.
  • Co-managing Rmoni monitoring system: daily alarm checks, troubleshooting, sensor organization, and budget forecasting.
  • Managing cell bank operations: vial handling, inventory organization, AGORA database updates, and ensuring compliance with storage guidelines, supporting purchases and resolving technical issues.
  • Overseeing cold storage operations, including clean-ups, space allocation, inventory control, and technical issue resolution.
  • Organizing internal and external cold storage archives.
  • Maintaining and updating storage guidelines in collaboration with QA and CMC.
  • Being a co-responsible of our equipment management system by tracking calibrations, logging interventions, scheduling and recording maintenance activities.
  • Co-responsible for handling order management tasks such as entering, monitoring, and processing orders related to lab articles at different temperatures and consumables

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Holds a higher secondary technical degree or equivalent, with a biochemistry focus.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
  • Skilled in using office software like MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experienced in handling both administrative and logistical tasks.
  • Proficient in Dutch communication (both spoken and written), with fluent English proficiency.
  • Demonstrates a strong dedication to quality and upholds high housekeeping standards.
  • Able to plan and carry out routine tasks independently, without constant supervision.
  • Shows reliability, independence, and precision in task execution.
  • A committed team player with strong collaboration abilities skills and a knack for fostering connections.
  • Daily working from the labs in Zwijnaarde (Ghent, Belgium).
