Field Service Lead Mechanic

Arcosa Aggregates is hiring for the position of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Lead for our Canal Point, FL plant on day shift. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing workflow efficiency, maintaining accurate records, resolving mechanical issues, and promoting a safe and productive work environment through effective communication and adherence to company policies.

Applicant must have heavy equipment knowledge and verifiable experience, be organized, and understand engine repair, component repair, truck repair and CAT equipment.

Day to Day

  • Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble and service equipment as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain clean work area, care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including MSHA, while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company handbook
  • Perform all duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
  • Maintain all maintenance and repairs needed and keep accurate records
  • Maintain consistent flow of work in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality, compliance and safety of company's assets and personnel
  • Capable of resolving issues as they arise
  • Oversee documentation of machine information and repairs completed including parts and fluids
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Be able to communicate with management, drivers and to function as a team leader
  • Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
  • Comply with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
  • Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operator
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned

About You

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Applicant must have strong organizational skills to be able to keep up with multiple projects at a time and know where they always stand.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of heavy equipment and repair
  • Ability to read service/repair manuals, and work orders
  • Computer skills
  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
  • Positive, team-based attitude
  • The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
  • The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience working on heavy mobile equipment in a mining environment-preferred

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to meet all MSHA safety requirements and adhere to company safety policies.
  • While most equipment has air conditioning, there will be times when other responsibilities may require periods of work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.
  • Typical work schedule consists of daytime hours Monday through Friday, may be required to work overtime. Saturdays maybe required based on production needs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as bend and lift-up to 80 pounds
