Technical Sales Manager - Remote Supporting our customer base in the Southwest, West Coast, Pacific Northwest and Upper Midwest Regions ADM Corn Sweeteners & Texturizers NA This is a full-time, exempt position. The Carbohydrate Solutions Division of ADM is actively seeking an individual to fill the following position: Position Summary We are seeking an experienced technical sales professional to support our portfolio of sweetening & texturizing solutions, which includes low- and no-calorie sweeteners, nutritive sweeteners and food starches. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Key Account Managers to promote, sell and market these products, while also providing technical support to customers. This includes assisting with product reformulation, new product development, and quality assessments. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support to customers for the Sweetening & Texturizing ingredient portfolio, addressing such areas as ingredient functionality, product specifications, customer questionnaires/applications, regulatory compliance, food safety and product quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D and product applications teams to identify and solve customers' technical problems
  • Maintain a core base of personal accounts including negotiating pricing annually while continuing to prospect for new sales opportunities in the territory
  • Liaison between R&D and commercial team for customer application support, customer demonstrations/prototypes and reformulations
  • Collaborate with product management to develop marketing plans and achieve sales goals
  • Organize and conduct technical trainings for customers and new internal team members
  • Voice customer innovation agendas internally to guide future ingredient development needs
  • Serve as technical SME for trade shows and published media promotions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key participants and influencers in the industry
  • The position requires approximately 50% travel
Qualifications/Experience:
  • B.S. in Food Science, Food Processing, Food Chemistry or related field of study with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in an industry sales role. Relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of the Nutritive and Low-and No-Calorie Sweetener industry, including current trends in production systems and markets and understanding of key participants and influencers
  • Knowledge of the Food starches industry, including current trends in production systems and markets and understanding of key participants and influencers
  • Strong understanding of the application of sweeteners and starches in the development of food, beverage, supplements and related products.
  • Skilled in identifying new sales opportunities, establishing, nurturing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and successfully promoting and selling products using a consultative, value-driven approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical presentations
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills to be able to evaluate root causes, and take a systematic, structured view of projects/situations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals in addition to effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers, colleagues and customers
  • Proficiency in CRM(Salesforce.com) software, and other programs such as Power Point, MS Word, Outlook, Excel

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $151,200.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
