Arbonics

A platform focused on monitoring and monetizing carbon in forests through advanced remote sensing and AI technologies.

Arbonics Full Stack Engineer Opportunity

Together with landowners, Arbonics has built a new forest economy to scale forest carbon removal and increase biodiversity of European forests. Arbonics was founded in 2022 by Kristjan Lepik and Lisett Luik, and is backed by Taavet Hinrikus, Plural Platform, Tilia Impact Ventures and Nordic Ninja.

One of Arbonics' core differentiators in the carbon project space is its technology - our proprietary technology product combines a SaaS platform approach with GIS layers and integrated remote sensing data to create our Trunk project management system and our (coming soon) Landowner Portal.

Through our products we're able to manage the reforestation of thousands of plots of land across Europe:

  • Assessing individual plots for suitability and eligibility for reforestation
  • Tracking each step of the site's progress, from preparation to planting to growth
  • Integrating monitoring data to measure and quantify biomass changes
  • Automating the complex carbon accounting and reporting processes needed by auditors and verification agencies.

We're looking for a full stack engineer to join our small but mighty technology team and drive our products into their next phase.

You'll have the opportunity to work fast and independently, have a real impact on an early stage product in a fast moving, young company and collaborate with the wider design and product team to input into the end to end product delivery process.

Responsibilities

In addition to the standard requirements of an engineer role - developing and maintaining both front and back end of our applications as a key member of our technology team - we're specifically looking for someone who can join the team at this early stage to:

  • Play a key role in the system design and development of our platform, alongside your senior engineering, product and design peers at Arbonics
  • Collaborate closely with our design lead as we expand and improve our design system, component library, etc.
  • Work closely with our data/GIS lead as we structure and expose our deep GIS data to our users in engaging and intuitive ways
  • Play a fundamental role in the evolution of our 'culture' of what it feels like to create, collaborate and deliver at Arbonics.
