Description of the Job

Summary of the role: Responsible for carrying out vehicle dynamics advanced simulation activities to support attributes development programs.

Responsibilities: Perform complete vehicle and suspension simulations to provide direction to the chassis development programs, while minimizing the need for physical testing. Main responsibilities of this role will be:

• Build chassis and complete vehicle models;
• Perform virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics & compliance and complete vehicle handling & ride comfort;
• Optimise chassis parameters in order to meet performance targets;
• Prepare/write project reports;
• Presentation of project results and support decision making;
• Client communication and reporting.

Qualifications

Technical qualifications: B. S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Years of experience in automotive chassis development with a focus on Vehicle Dynamics. Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from individual components (hardpoints, steering, springs, bars, dampers, tires, bushings, etc.) to suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance. Basic understanding of the performance development process, from target setting and target cascading to validation and sign-off. Vehicle dynamics simulation experience with multi-body (ADAMS) and/or lookup tables-based models (VI-CarRealTime, IPG Carmaker, CarSim, etc). Data post-processing skills.
