As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot engineering issues. You'll also measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers, and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment, learn, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries, partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects.

Our team is looking for a hands-on process engineer to help perform experiments on advanced semiconductor processing equipment. Most of the work will be accomplished within the MIT.nano cleanroom located in Cambridge, MA. You will interact with researchers, equipment experts, and customers to develop novel processes with applications in nanotechnology, semiconductors, MEMS and quantum computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, collect data, analyze, and perform experiments on semiconductor processing equipment.
  • Safely and efficiently operate process and metrology equipment (SEM, TEM, ellipsometry, TXRF, etc.) within a clean room environment.
  • Perform root cause analysis to resolve hardware and process issues.
  • Plan and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver results in a complex environment.
  • Document all results and generates professional reports.
  • Adopt latest AI technologies to improve outcomes or efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduating with a Master's degree (or Doctorate) in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor metrology or processing equipment.
  • Basic semiconductor devices and integration.
  • Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
