The primary objective of this role is to accelerate the speed of application development by leveraging a predictive Large Language Model (LLM), physics based feature-scale models and traditional approaches specifically designed for wafer-based applications. The individual in this role will play a pivotal part in enhancing application development efficiency through incorporating these methodologies. The position is accountable for specific application based performance milestones to be obtained through process and product development.
Deliver future node (N+4) application solutions using both process and hardware development from AIx, feature scale models, and experimental methods
LLM Training Supervision: Oversee the training of LLMs for the development of integrated numerical and feature-scale models tailored to wafer-based applications.
Model Grounding: Ensure that LLM models are firmly grounded in internal documentation, historical data, and product hardware logs (such as CFM) to provide accurate and context-aware predictions.
Feature-scale model supervision and direction: oversee the creation of feature scale models and direct ensure the model is consistent with the relevant data and mechanisms found from literature and lab work.
Data Identification: Identify the required input and data derived from wafer or product-level outputs that are essential for training the LLM to achieve effective predictive capabilities.
Parameter Definition: Define relevant wafer-level data (for example, CDs and profile) and product-level parameters (such as IEDF) to be utilized for LLM-based predictive outputs.
Data Governance and Compliance: Uphold data governance, security practices, and compliance with industry standards when handling sensitive information.
The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of various systems, theories, and practices relevant to the discipline. Staying informed about new developments is essential to help define necessary changes to policies and practices.
Utilize highly specialized skills to expand the technology footprint or customer base of Applied, or to enhance operational efficiencies in support of the company's business objectives. The role demands a comprehensive knowledge of the industry to contribute effectively to the commercial objectives of the business, enabling the business unit to differentiate itself from competitors.
Lead key cross-functional project teams or initiatives, acting as a mentor and role model to others within the organization. Working across functional teams (KPU, PDC, Modeling, Accounts, engineering and product development) will be required to be successful.
Exercise a high degree of autonomy in making decisions that impact business unit or function deliverables.
Make decisions that influence the attainment of annual goals and contribute to the achievement of important objectives for the business unit. These decisions may also impact other external functions or groups.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively influencing the beliefs and opinions of peers within the business unit. Build and maintain robust business relationships with key stakeholders to secure their active support.
The role reports to either the Business Unit (BU) or Center of Excellence (COE).
Direct reports could include application engineers as well as software and data science engineers.
Matrix reporting responsibilities extend to BU KPU and COE.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process and product engineers, modeling teams, data scientists, and LLM developers.
Funding for wafers and metrology is provided directly by BU KPU, and projects require KPU endorsement and review.
