Thin Film Equipment & Process Engineer

With passion and dedication, there's no limit to what you can achieve. Apple is seeking a Thin Film Equipment and Process Engineer to develop new processes and designs for panel displays. As a Thin Film Engineer, you will be responsible for advancing high-tech processes and maintaining equipment to ensure successful technology development.

As a Thin Film Engineer, you will be responsible for driving high-tech process performance and ensuring the proper maintenance of related equipment. This role is based in Asia and requires close collaboration with the panel supply chain to deliver advanced process technology. You will work closely with Apple's HQ team in California, as well as industrial partners in Asia, to develop next-generation flat-panel devices that enable the best display performance for Apple products.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve optimal performance through advanced manufacturing processes for future products.
  • Optimizing and improving existing TFT backplane processes for new Apple products.
  • Drive the development of new technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance next-generation displays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS above in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, or Physics.
  • BS degree or higher with at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with thin film process and equipment in the flat panel display or semiconductor industry. Additional expertise in CVD, PVD, ALD, and/or ELA processes—particularly in Oxide TFT and/or LTPS TFT—is highly desirable.
  • Background in fab-related fields, including fab operations, yield improvement, SOP documentation, DOE design, and R&D activities.
  • Proficiency in effective written and spoken communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Drive thin film process integration for high-mobility oxide TFT and/or LTPO TFT to improve the reliability and performance of flexible OLED panels.
  • Collaborate with material and hardware vendors to develop advanced insulator layers and metal gap-fill process technologies.
  • Build strong relationships with the panel supply chain and ensure the highest level of partner satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and willingness to take on new technology challenges.
  • Facilitate innovative ideas and promote effective cross-functional communication.
