Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Responsible for the system performance test of LTE and NR FR1 cellular bands on the upcoming Apple devices, involving bring up of devices that are usable by the end customer. Plan, develop, and execute test cases that help accomplish the baseline for the product's performance while also ensuring inter-operability of the devices that stay intact on various cellular technologies like CDMA, UMTS, WCDMA, etc. Collect field logs of Apple devices on commercial telecom carriers which involves extensive use of Apple's internal test suite and automation suite. Analysis of the collected logs and evaluation of the performance of Apple devices by using tools such as QXDM, QCAT, APEX, and using Python, ssh shell, Linux programming. Responsible for the data analysis and presentation to the management regarding the performance of Apple products and work with cross functional teams to ensure the performance is better than the previous release. Work with the hardware/software development teams and other cross functional teams on identifying issues impacting UE Cellular performance. Utilize superior cross functional communication skills to exchange ideas, interact with external teams and create a cohesive environment to execute tasks effectively. Prepare exhaustive test plans and device efficient methodologies to test new cellular features in Field Environments. 20% Domestic Travel Required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $188,760 - $213,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Utilizing test methodologies for wireless technologies including UMTS, HSPA C2K, EVDO, LTE and 5G NR to test new cellular features on devices
  • Conducting early evaluations of prototypes and hardware/software systems on different 2G/3G/4G/5G wireless technologies.
  • Using wireless technologies including UMTS, HSPA C2K, EVDO, LTE and 5G NR to run focused experiments in relationship to RF/OTA performance.
  • Testing and debugging communications systems including UMTS or C2K utilizing testing methodologies and debug capabilities for 4G/LTE and other wireless communication systems to improve overall performance of hardware
  • Utilizing radio protocol stack knowledge (LTE and 5G Protocol Layer) for comprehensive technical reviews of new cellular features and formulation of test cases to validate in field.
  • Utilizing RF Fundamentals to perform deep dive analysis into internal logs to understand and identify root cause of any system issues.
  • Analyzing system level log for cellular technologies including LTE and 5G and Wi-Fi 802.11.
  • Utilizing Python and shell scripting to develop automation scripts for test automation and post processing scripts
