The Mac/Input Devices Engineering team at Apple produces innovative and highly reliable input sub-systems for Apple product lines, as well as new technology prototypes. Tightly integrated with Product Development, Operations, Industrial Design and Reliability Testing groups, you will help coordinate and execute the overall designs from beginning to end.

Description

Mac/Input product design interns will work on either early concept development activity, or execution project to be delivered. - Brainstorms design concepts and drives design concepts in all phases of a development cycle - Create feasible drawings for prototyping and manufacturing. Review DFM with vendors. - Hands on work to build and validate prototypes with various tools and equipment. - Drives failure analyses and design of experiments (DOEs) to reach design solutions and corrective actions - Communicates status effectively throughout the team

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in an engineering, science or related field
• Design and 3D experience
• Effective communications in both Mandarin and English to multi-functional team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Data-driven and detail focused. Self-driving and quick learning
• Availability for internship more than 6 months is preferred.
• Experience with programming (Matlab, python, etc).
• Knowledge of scientific method, experimental process, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of GD&T with close attention to datum establishment and tolerance analysis
• Defining and implementing design validation activities (testing, metrology, statistical analysis)
• Directing / providing support for lab tools/fixtures
• Experience using a variety of metrology equipment
