Module Systems Engineer Manager

Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other's ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It's the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you'll do more than join something — you'll add something. At Apple, innovation comes from individuals working together to build products that transform how people live, create, and communicate. Our Hardware Technology organization develops the cutting-edge modules that power Apple's next-generation devices. We are seeking a Manager for Module Systems Engineering to lead battery and camera module test strategy, architecture, and execution. In this role, you will define and drive test methodologies for high-volume consumer hardware, ensuring our modules meet Apple's exacting standards for performance, safety, and reliability while leading multidisciplinary teams across global design, reliability, and manufacturing groups.

Responsibilities

  • Setting the vision for module validation at scale, ensuring safety, performance, and reliability under demanding conditions
  • Defining long-term roadmaps for module-level testing of battery packs and camera systems, establishing standards for test coverage and scalability
  • Overseeing design and deployment of robust, automated test systems for functional, performance, and reliability validation
  • Partnering with hardware, system design, and operations teams to embed test strategies early in development
  • Providing technical direction on module validation projects from concept through mass production
  • Driving test methodology for complex systems and providing expertise in measurement science and automation frameworks
  • Championing data-driven decisions through analytics and advanced debug tools to optimize yield and reliability
  • Influencing executive decisions through clear technical recommendations and risk assessments

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • Experience in module/system-level testing and validation for electronic systems and/or modules
  • Experience with electronic test equipment including but not limited to oscilloscopes, analyzers, power measurement tools, or optical metrology setups

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in hardware test and validation with 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Background in board level testing (safety, reliability, performance, power characterization) and/or module testing (optical performance, image quality validation, sensor interfaces)
  • Experience with one or more of the following: high-speed camera interfaces (MIPI, CSI-2), power/battery management standards, or optical system characterization
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP, MATLAB) and programming/scripting (Python, C/C++, LabVIEW)
  • Knowledge of reliability testing frameworks for lithium-ion batteries and optical systems
  • Experience in contract manufacturing environments and scaling test systems for mass production
  • Foundation in automation, failure analysis, and root-cause debug methodologies
  • Communication skills with ability to synthesize technical data for senior leadership and drive alignment across engineering functions
