Our Software Engineering team is a passionate group that powers the tooling, features, and processes used to create an exceptional localized experience for Apple's international customers. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer with strong software development, continuous testing, interpersonal, and language skills who will work cross-functionally to take our tools and processes to the next level.

Description

You will work with a wide array of Apple software engineering teams, international software QA centers, translators, and project managers to ensure that Apple delivers world-class software products to our international markets. You will join a team of passionate engineers to design, implement, and qualify localization features, processes, and tooling across a wide variety of Apple's products. Your duties include:

  • Improving and localizing the user interface and underlying functionality of Apple's applications and platforms
  • Analyzing international functionality issues and making changes to application and OS source code
  • Working cross-functionally with other engineering teams, QA, and project management teams throughout Apple
  • Developing and maintaining software tools that help facilitate the localization and internationalization process

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency with Apple's programming languages (Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C)
  • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software localization/internationalization
  • Familiarity with localization standards and technologies (Unicode, XLIFF, ICU, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies (LLM)
  • A working knowledge of UNIX commands and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Perl)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching and changing priorities
  • Native-level foreign language skills in reading, writing, and speaking

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $118,500 and $244,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
