Datacenter Hardware Engineering is looking for a system validation engineer to develop, implement and execute validation plans for datacenter systems designed for large scale deployment and integrated use. This is a highly collaborative position, working cross-functionally with multiple teams to validate hardware, ensure requirements are met and issues have been captured early in the development life cycle. As a system validation engineer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of system hardware, components, CPUs and associated subsystems. You will specialize in system validation of modern CPU architecture based technologies for large scale deployments.
Your role encompasses system validation, including functional, power, performance, and stress testing to ensure systems and racks meet requirements and specifications. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional design team to enable and drive validation of systems. Your expertise in system-level debug and root cause analysis contributes to the reliability and scalability of the system in large scale deployments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience Ability to review architecture and system documents and identify validation test cases and test plans Experience with system and rack validation, including functional, power, performance, and stress testing and evaluating critical data and results Ability to work independently and with a team on preparing, implementing, automating, and maintaining validation test plans and procedures Experience with test automation and large scale testing Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Experience using stress tools and benchmarks to evaluate system behavior and identify patterns and test cases that rapidly expose design flaws Experience with hardware bring up, debug and trouble-shooting Ability to identify, design, and develop tools that can expand test coverage Experience developing and optimizing test framework and tools to create a controlled validation environment to support large scale validation Experience interfacing with cross functional teams to successfully deliver results Ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and innovate
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
