The Apple Services Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. Our Program Managers partner with engineers who build secure, end-to-end solutions. The Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for service infrastructure that ensures our customers' perfect experience. You will partner with the SRE leaders and work with your Engineering Program Manager (EPM) team in order to define, prioritize, plan, and deliver the project portfolio of technical, infrastructure, and system needs that make Apple, Apple. The projects range from deploying end-to-end infrastructure environments, supporting feature launches, hardware deployments, decommissions, complex system changes, tech refreshes, data migrations, service outage remediation, as well as continually striving to scale and mature operations and operational standard methodologies. Description

Apple is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to drive projects and features for the Private Cloud Compute software that powers Apple Intelligence and support integration of Apple Silicon in Apple Data Centers. This is not just a task-based job, you are responsible for successful outcomes and delivery. Strong fundamentals are a requirement! Responsibilities

The role requires you to build partner trust and persistently remove ambiguity by seeking to reduce complexity. You must thrive in uncertainty and strive to bring clarity and focus in a fast paced environment. Technically curious you will autonomously lead projects of varying scale and complexity with cross-functional development and SRE teams with only consultative direction from leadership. Develop a broad organizational perspective while facilitating and executing on strategic decisions and keeping a pulse on what is happening in the industry. In addition, the role will support the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures in order to achieve required maturity and effectiveness, all while leading and growing teams of extraordinary project managers. Systems within this scope are complex, so you will not only be expected to be able to readily understand complicated and subtle interdependencies, but also to evaluate new requests and new information in light of how it affects or is affected by those systems. Being able to think on your feet is important, as is the ability to efficiently debate the validity of a given approach to any aspect of a project under your control. You have strong social and interpersonal skills. Key to your success will be the need to act as a business product thought problem solver on applicable domains, analyzing business risks, needs and requirements, participating and representing as the need arises in problem solving and design of engineering discussions. Hands on technical program manager with a strong project management toolkit, who can get elbow deep in defining requirements, coordinate technical design discussions among multiple teams/partners, and navigate conflict and ambiguity to execute projects to committed timelines. Ambitious individual who is proactive and able to work under minimal supervision at a detailed level while taking account of interdependencies at higher levels. You have excellent communication, organization and leadership skills as this is relevant in our complex environment.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software development project management for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domains. Experience leading large scale Infrastructure programs with focus on Cloud environments. Agile project experience with evidence and able to demonstrate knowledge SCRUM background. BS in computer science or related technical field or equivalent industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional organizational, project management, and technical savvy. Experience with Kubernetes is a big plus. Experience at prioritizing features, leading & presenting technical roadmaps and identifying & communicating risks early. A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority. Played the role of a Scrum Master is a plus. Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization. Ability to handle multiple simultaneous end-to-end infrastructure, technical projects and partner community comprising of various engineering teams and their partners. Experience at end-to-end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability. Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings).

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
