We are looking for a Community and Content Engineer to drive technical community initiatives from end-to-end to help build a robust ecosystem for the language. This role will build awareness and learning pathways through documentation, tutorials, samples, and more. This role also supports the wider open source project with communication platforms, developer support, moderation programs, project management, and contributor experience. Drive content initiatives that bring in new community members to the Swift programming language and support the existing ecosystem; creating a welcoming community where everyone can belong.
Write content for swift.org, forums.swift.org, and other channels meeting the future developers of Swift where they are, and provide experienced developers with targeted content.
Help drives an events content program geared towards getting started, up and running, solving, and sophisticated guides like performance for Swift for Linux.
Create support channels for all developers of Swift, regardless of their current platform or ecosystem.
Experience building content and community programs for an open source community/ecosystem in a community, developer relations, technical marketing, or related positions.
Ability to create technical content (sample code, written word, etc) independently and with a large team.
Ability to break down concepts per audience.
Experience building communication channels with moderation guidelines.
Proven experience with public speaking and technical writing skills for blogs and documentation.
Experience working with GitHub in a collaborative git environment with knowledge of content publishing tools.
A level of quality that is bar none.
Demonstrated empathy and reasoning.
At least in a Linux based operating system environment with an understanding about the command line, common tools, navigating file systems, and more.
Programming language industry experience.
Experience with Swift on Linux, Windows, and/or Embedded.
Strong facilitation, prioritization, and project management skills.
Comfortable with navigating ambiguity in order to build structured plans and solutions.
Experience with DocC.
You exude collaboration skills, including the ability to mentor and be mentored.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
