CI Systems Engineer - APIs And UI Services

Apple's Software Developer Workflows team delivers fast, reliable CI systems that make Apple's software easier to develop and ship. We believe that streamlined development unlocks creativity, innovation, and potential for developers. We're looking for an engineer to join our APIs and UI Services team, where you'll build and maintain the foundational services and interfaces that enable Apple's software engineers to build, test, and validate code changes. In this role, you'll work on both backend APIs and frontend services that form the backbone of Apple's CI infrastructure. You'll design systems that scale reliably, maintain services that integrate with diverse workflows, and improve the developer experience for teams across the company. Your contributions will directly impact how efficiently Apple's engineers can validate and ship code. Success requires flexibility, proactivity, and thriving in a supportive environment with challenging problems. You'll need excellent judgment for timely technical decisions, ability to collaborate effectively on design discussions, and strong technical depth to make informed tradeoffs. In your role as an APIs and UI Services Engineer, you will:

• Design and maintain APIs for Apple's CI services, supporting diverse project and pipeline configurations
• Develop and enhance services that integrate with developer workflows
• Build and maintain services that initiate CI builds from multiple sources, ensuring reliable invocation across various use cases
• Implement UI features and backend services that improve the log viewing and analysis experience, helping developers quickly identify and diagnose issues
• Develop systems that optimally annotate PRs with build and test results
• Build services that extract and surface relevant failure information from logs to support failure analysis and developer productivity
• Provide on-call support to assist customers, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system reliability

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,700 and $226,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple Inc.'s discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit award recommendations, and can purchase Apple Inc. stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple Inc.'s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
