Here, you'll do more than join something — you'll add something. Apple is looking for an AR/VR Module Process Engineer to join Panel Process and Optics (PPO) Engineering team. The candidate will be based in China. Module Process Engineers are responsible to develop new innovative manufacturing process technologies to solve complex design challenges that have direct impact to future product, quality and delivery of Lens Modules. Individual in this role will serve as a focal point in the process development of advanced key process modules from the concept/architecture stage through product engineering validation builds. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self motivated. A successful candidate needs to be flexible and be able to problem solve outside of their respective technical area.

Description

1. Define component/module/system level requirements 2. Design opto-mechanical modules to achieve defined requirements 3. Simulate module performance to ensure line of sight to requirements 4. Support manufacturing builds of designed module 5. Validate build data supports simulation 6. Perform failure analysis for any designs characteristics that do not meet requirements 7. Scale design with vendors to fulfill demand 8. Communicate with cross-functional team members through all phases of development

Minimum Qualifications

• M.S. degree in Physics, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in related field preferred • Hands-on experience in development of advanced module process and equipment for mass production in display, touch, camera, lens Module or other related industries • Demonstrated failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem solving for product yield and quality issue • Proven ability to perform DOE, data analysis, SPC control • Outstanding written & verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin • Ability for frequent domestic and international business travel to support project implementation and collaborate with external vendors for product manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Physics, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in related field preferred • Self-starter with consistent track record to lead a project from lab scale development to high volume production without major last minute surprises • Project Management- Excellent data handling, documentation, critical turning point creation, and organization skill • Validated leadership ability

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
