Analog IC Design Engineer

We are looking for an analog/mixed-signal IC design engineer with in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art analog IC design & verification tools. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the rare and exciting opportunity to craft upcoming products that will delight and encourage millions of Apple's customers every single day.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in feasibility, definition, system analysis/design and specification of building blocks.
  • Behavioral modeling to validate architectures and algorithms.
  • Transistor-level feasibility studies for various blocks.
  • Crafting blocks and documenting design towards formal design reviews.
  • Drive mask design to implement layout view of designs.
  • Top-level simulations to validate top-level integration.
  • Defining production/bench-level test-plans.
  • Taking lab measurements to validate analog designs.
  • Driving/reviewing yield/lab test results to drive bug fixes.
  • Design for ESD compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D/Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with industry or internship experience.
  • Deep knowledge of transistor-level design
  • Experience with design and validation of complex analog/mixed-signal IPs
  • Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, filters, bandgap references, biasing circuits, LDO regulators, OpAmps, comparators and switched-cap circuits
  • Deep knowledge of analog/mixed-signal design techniques such as small-signal analysis, feedback loop theory and noise analysis
  • Deep knowledge of analog/mixed-signal concepts such as mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power and low-noise techniques
  • Experience with analog/mixed-signal IC development from definition to production including layout supervision, lab evaluation and characterization
  • Experience in silicon characterization and debugging of mixed-signal circuits, including experience with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and signal generators

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SERDES
  • Design experience in FinFet CMOS technology
  • Experience with Verilog-A/AMS behavioral modeling

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
