Java Support Engineer

This role focuses on application support, incident monitoring, and ticket management, working closely with engineering and QA teams to ensure reliability across Java-based platforms. Schedule: Full-Time, no rotation or on-call shifts required.

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Java development (including legacy systems or Java EE).
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
  • Understanding of Microservices Architecture and RESTful integrations.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in JavaScript and Angular, with ability to reproduce or triage UI issues.
  • Expertise in REST API consumption and debugging using tools such as Postman or Swagger.
  • Familiarity with JBoss or Apache application servers.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle DB for querying, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven debugging and triage capabilities in production environments.
  • Exposure to AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, or RDS preferred).
  • Linux basics and Bash scripting for environment management and log inspection.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Datadog, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership, and teamwork.
  • Conversational English is a requirement, as you will be working directly with US-based clients.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Triage and resolve tickets from the incident queue with a focus on root cause identification.
  • Monitor system alerts and respond promptly to incidents, ensuring service continuity.
  • Debug backend processes and troubleshoot REST API integrations between microservices.
  • Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to improve system reliability and document solutions.
  • Maintain clear operational documentation throughout the SDLC.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring and support processes through automation and proactive follow-ups.
