Apex Systems is seeking a Threat Requirements Engineer to join our team and support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Program Office. This is a high-impact role where you will transform intelligence into actionable requirements, guiding the development of advanced target systems for missile defense testing. What You'll Do

• Apply physics and engineering principles to aerospace systems, propulsion, aerodynamics, and guidance to recommend target configurations and technologies.
• Translate intelligence reports on ballistic and hypersonic adversary systems into actionable requirements for target development.
• Capture and write flight test, target, and countermeasure requirements for government review.
• Frame countermeasure technology requirements for flight testing and negotiate solutions across multiple stakeholders.
• Support Targets Program Office Systems Engineering activities and collaborate with MDA teams, contractors, and other government agencies.
• Ensure requirements flow down and verify compliance throughout the development lifecycle.

What You Bring

• Education & Experience: Master's degree in STEM with 12+ years in missile defense or large DoD programs.
• Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.
• Technical Expertise: Familiarity with MDA/DoD programs and processes.
• Ability to interpret missile and space intelligence reports.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to senior leaders and technical communities.
• Experience writing and coordinating engineering plans, policies, and requirements.
• Understanding of system interface requirements and configuration-controlled environments.
• Ability to work independently or lead teams.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with MDA systems engineering processes.
• Experience with technical proposal development and evaluation.
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
