Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator – Contract Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PostgreSQL DBA to support a database centralization initiative. This role focuses on migrating independently managed PostgreSQL servers into a centrally managed infrastructure, addressing audit remediation requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and automation, and will work closely with internal SMEs to ensure secure, optimized, and compliant database operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases
• Implement security and monitoring solutions
• Migrate data across servers and environments
• Configure backups and disaster recovery strategies
• Optimize database performance and indexing
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (Shell/Bash, Python, etc.)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL DBA administration
• Strong scripting skills (Shell/Bash)
• Experience with performance tuning, backup strategies, and HA/DR setups
• Familiarity with tools like Repmgr and HA Proxy is a plus
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
