People Operations Specialist

Apex Systems is currently hiring for a People Operations Specialist with a nonprofit client in the Redwood City, CA Bay Area. The People Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our People Operations team. This role involves handling highly confidential and personal information, managing onboarding tasks, processing terminations, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for client hires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage I-9s, work/mode changes, new hires, and changes in roles and seniority of existing employees
  • Be a friendly and approachable point of contact for new employees from Day 1
  • Process and handle the transactions related to terminations
  • Oversee the HR email alias Jira ticketing system to triage and manage requests
  • Handle E-Verify and Verification of Employment (VOE) cases
  • Provide exceptional service to ensure employees are comfortable and well-supported

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Workday
  • Strong understanding of what information should/should not be shared and with whom
  • Experience handling cases related to E-Verify and VOE
  • Ability to manage highly confidential and personal information with discretion
  • Experience with Jira

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create a welcoming environment for new hires
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Location: Hybrid-3 days/onsite in Redwood City, CA- work equipment is provided

Contract: 12 months with extension opportunity - W2

Shift: Full-Time: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm standard hours
