Network Operations - Project Manager III
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Project Manager to lead and execute a large-scale, nationwide initiative to relocate FAA tower lighting systems from within existing shelters to external positions across approximately 1,500 sites. This role will be integral in ensuring rapid, high-quality execution through close coordination with internal teams and external construction vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-End Project Management: Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning to execution and close-out, ensuring all deliverables are met with a focus on speed and quality.
- Scoping & Planning: Partner with engineering and construction teams to define site-specific scopes of work and develop detailed project schedules.
- Hardware & Material Management: Oversee and track the timely procurement and delivery of all required FAA lighting equipment and supporting hardware.
- Construction Oversight: Collaborate with contractors to manage construction schedules, ensure adherence to design and compliance standards, and resolve site-specific challenges.
- Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between T-Mobile and multiple external vendors, fostering alignment on priorities, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Site-Level Tracking: Drive weekly planning and progress tracking at the individual site level to ensure milestones are achieved and bottlenecks are proactively resolved.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all site installations comply with FAA and T-Mobile requirements, and that high standards of workmanship are maintained throughout.
- Close-Out Management: Lead the documentation, reporting, and final approval processes for site close-outs to ensure accurate records and successful project closure.
Required qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale telecom or construction project management.
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-site projects with significant vendor involvement.
- Strong understanding of wireless infrastructure, construction processes, and FAA lighting systems preferred.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple, competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in project management tools and platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.).
Preferred attributes include:
- PMP certification or equivalent experience in formal project management methodologies.
- Background in telecom field operations or site deployment.
- Experience managing remote and geographically dispersed teams/vendors.
