Job Summary

The Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Java/Java EE applications while contributing expertise across the full software development lifecycle—from concept and design through testing and deployment. This role requires strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to troubleshoot issues across diverse environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to define application objectives, system features, and overall functionality.
• Design and develop user interfaces for internet and intranet applications, establishing expectations and priorities throughout the development lifecycle.
• Determine appropriate design methodologies, tools, and technologies; write clean, efficient code using Java, Java EE, and related frameworks.
• Develop, execute, and document test plans to ensure quality and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Support end users by creating documentation, job aids, and other assistance materials.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, including common design patterns.
• Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies such as JPA2 and Hibernate.
• Experience working with the Spring Framework.
• Experience building web applications using at least one modern web framework (e.g., JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
• Proficiency with Java/J2EE and Hibernate.
