Quality Assurance Lead

The QA Lead works with the QA Manager and Producers to ensure testing coverage and support needs are being met. They will coordinate with the QA Manager and other QA Leads to request additional resources and assistance as needed (staffing, equipment requests, etc.) and help refine team processes. They are the point of contact for the studio production and leadership on titles testing health and quality in their area. They will work closely with Development Support and Core QA Test Coordinators to create and manage the organization and delivery of testing schedules and focus. They will attend lead level meetings to help identify risks, provide estimates on testing capacity and coverage, raise concerns, and listen to feedback. They are the face of QA at a project/title level and help provide confidence in the level of coverage on a title. They will help coach and mentor our Development Support and Test Coordinators and shouldn't be afraid to hop into the title to assist with testing as required.

•Proven leadership experience coordinating QA or development teams through complex situations.

•Experience across multiple development cycles, ideally from pre-production through post-launch.

•Strong background in writing testing instructions, briefs, or test plans.

•Experience estimating test efforts and managing QA schedules.

•Strong documentation and organizational skills.

•Excellent communication skills; comfortable collaborating across QA, Production, and Development teams.

•Willingness to learn new technologies and refine existing skills.

•Ensure proper testing coverage and execution for the team.

•Mentor and observe Dev Support members, providing guidance and feedback.

•Partner with Production stakeholders to align on deliverables for each milestone.

•Translate design and technical briefs into actionable test plans and strategies.

•Audit incoming issues to confirm proper process adherence and reporting standards.

•Track and report QA KPIs to management, escalating risks or blockers when necessary.

•Set the standard for QA best practices and processes within the QA team.

•Estimate test efforts and communicate requirements clearly to both QA and Production team

•Experience coordinating large-scale multiplayer or campaign testing.

•Deep understanding of online game communities and live game ecosystems.

•Adaptable teaching skills; able to mentor diverse team members, including leadership.

•Strong ability to translate design and feature briefs into robust test cases or provide effective feedback on the work of others.

•Proactive planner with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

•Data-driven approach to decision making and reporting.

•Excellent documentation and organizational practices

•Unreal Engine experience

•Jira, Confluence, Perforce and SharePoint experience

•Adaptable teaching skills (teaching to lots of different types of learners)

•Familiarity with the "Gears of War" series.
