Calibration Engineer - Diesel Aftertreatment Systems

Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay: $37-$40/HR

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Calibration Engineer to support diesel engine development and aftertreatment system validation. This role focuses on dyno certification emissions testing for lean, regeneration (regen), and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DPF aftertreatment systems, calibration tracking, and ETAS calibration tools for data collection and sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct dyno certification emissions testing for lean, regen, and OBD cycles.
  • Perform installation, testing, and removal of DPF aftertreatment systems.
  • Support calibration updates and track changes related to aftertreatment response.
  • Collect, analyze, and share data using ETAS calibration tools.
  • Apply knowledge of diesel engine calibration, test methods, and validation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA 10-65 regulatory certification protocols and key cycles.
  • Act as a flexible team member, supporting various testing and calibration tasks as a "floater."

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with diesel engine development and aftertreatment systems.
  • Experience with ETAS tools for calibration and data handling.
  • Understanding of DPF systems, emissions testing, and regulatory protocols.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Regen, and OBD processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced testing environment.
  • Technologist or engineering background preferred; calibration experience is not required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with dyno operations and emissions certification testing.
  • Familiarity with EPA 10-65 protocols and diesel emissions cycles.
