Associate Software Engineer (Medical Diagnostics)

Growing, international medical diagnostics company is expanding their software team! Work with our tenured group to develop customize software to run our medical diagnostics equipment. If you have high energy, curiosity, the ability to work through challenges, and skills in SQLite or similar scripting languages – this role is for you!

This role will be onsite/hybrid at our amazing Tucson area facility with mountain views and expanded amenities. Expand your skills working with our professional, tenured team and help cancer patients achieve better outcomes along the way!

Job Summary:

- Designs and develops software staining procedures (for biopsy glass slides) in close partnership with the scientific assay development team.

- Develops software supplements that install staining procedures along with the underlying database elements required to support staining procedure(s) in the software application.

- Delivers projects on time in a fast paced environment.

- Mentored on the use of software tools and editing staining procedures.

- Monitors work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.

Skill Set Requirements:

- Experience with programming.

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

- Ability to plan project components and effectively report status to stakeholders.

- Knowledge of creating software documentation for a medical device is a plus.

- Knowledge of software databases.

- Experience with scripting languages – SQLite is preferred, but other scripting languages will be accepted.

- Ability to create project documentation that is complete, consistent, and usable.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Knowledge of or familiarity with project management tools (such as Smart Sheets, MS Project, or Trello).

- Ability to create/edit written procedures and document work accurately.

- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver projects on time.

- Information Security and Data Privacy fundamentals.

- Having a background in biology or chemistry would be helpful to understand the science involved with the process.

Education:

Must have a 4 year degree – preferably in Engineering (preferred), Biology, or Chemistry.
