CSJ Student Leaders works on a team and collaborate on University initiatives related to social justice programming.
Method to assess remote work: The student team has specific benchmarks for their work each month depending on what initiatives they are working on at any given time.
Job Description
- The position will include up to 20 hours of work per week including the following: 1. Work with other counseling students across the university to expand student participation in Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ); 2. Help to plan and implement CSJ initiatives and events during the semester; 3. Research and compile resources for students related to experiences of BIPOC, queer, trans, non-binary, neurodivergent, and other intersecting marginalized communities to be shared with counseling students and faculty, supplementing current curriculum materials 4. Collaborate with other student organizations at the University on a shared social justice mission.
Qualifications
- Experience with community organizing and/or event planning, social media, or other communication platforms
- Understanding of intersectionality, multiculturalism, human rights, and activism
- Values and practice related to self-awareness building, reflexivity, and personal impacts and responsibility to others in community
- Dedication to collectivism, social justice advocacy, and global dedication of the counseling profession
- Student in the Counseling Division (i.e. CMHC, CES), but not limited to.
