The Société AngloGold Ashanti de Guinée (SAG), a subsidiary of the AngloGold Ashanti Group, urgently seeks a Specialist in Human Resources for Operations Support under an indefinite contract. The professional category is C4 according to our current salary scale but could be reviewed downward if the position's requirements are not fully met by the selected candidate. The incumbent will report to the Manager of HR Operations Support.

The position holder will be the main point of contact for personnel management issues. Their duties include workforce planning and strategy, workforce acquisition, payroll and benefits management, skills training and development, performance management, social relations management, employee counseling, and administrative management (contracts, files). They will contribute to the development and monitoring of policies and procedures.

They will also conduct legal and social monitoring to ensure compliance and the evolution of policies and procedures. They will ensure proper archiving and updating of physical and digital personnel records in accordance with standards and regulations.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the development, piloting, and implementation of policies and procedures aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitoring workforce needs and overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and integration processes for new hires.
  • Managing the administrative aspects of employment contracts and personnel files.
  • Contributing to the effective management of payroll and benefits.
  • Facilitating employee mobility and career progression.
  • Managing workplace social relations and resolving any conflicts.
  • Providing advice and support to employees.
  • Conducting continuous legal and social monitoring to adapt practices and ensure legal compliance (labor law, equality, disability).
  • Ensuring compliance with labor regulations.
  • Keeping up-to-date physical and digital records of employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records.
  • Initiating appropriate disciplinary measures against employees who violate rules and regulations.
  • Addressing employee grievances and communicating feedback to stakeholders.
  • Providing support to employees on various HR topics such as leave, holidays, and compensation and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Handling performance management activities.
  • Answering employee questions regarding attendance, disciplinary actions, benefits, payroll, etc.
  • Initiating and implementing HR process improvement initiatives.

The position requires a commitment to continuous improvement in health, industrial safety, and environmental management in accordance with SAG and AngloGold Ashanti Group policies, procedures, and standards.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • A minimum bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, social sciences, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a human resources specialist.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in human resources management.
  • Good knowledge of human resources functions and practices.
  • Proficiency in French (written and spoken).
  • Basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of human resources management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to respond to requests accurately in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all employees at all times.
  • Good knowledge of labor law, general human resources policies, and procedures.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Additional HR training would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office) and SAP and Success Factors systems.
  • Ability to work in a team, in a multicultural environment, and under pressure.
  • Good organizational skills and time management.
