Cybersecurity Systems Engineer - Active Clearance

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

At Anduril we are developing unmanned aerial systems capable of terminal guidance, long range intelligence collection, precision navigation, and unsupervised autonomy. Anvil, Altius, Ghost, and other developmental UAS platforms are built to operate in remote environments with limited user input, driving requirements for reliability and autonomy. We are looking for systems engineers with experience in this field to help design and manage the next generation of Anduril's flight vehicles. In order to be successful at Anduril, a systems engineer needs to be familiar with simulation and rapid prototyping development to drive complex electro-mechanical and aero-performance design trades, in addition to supporting the engineering product development, production, and sustainment through the entire product lifecycle.

  • Work closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
  • Collaborate with the team to define and document software engineering processes and practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the baseline design is compliant with Cybersecurity requirements while maintaining system functionality
  • Generate system design documentation containing information demonstrating the system's compliance with Cybersecurity requirements
  • Collaborate with the System Security Engineering team to ensure systems are authorized for test and operations

Required Qualifications

  • A passion for systems development, integration, and testing
  • 5+ years of industry experience including but not limited to systems engineering or networks
  • Proficiency in test script development using common languages (Python, Matlab etc)
  • Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process used by the Department of Defense to ensure the Cybersecurity of systems and obtain approvals to test and operate systems
  • Ability to implement Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configuration settings within the system
  • Ability to identify and mitigate/remediate Cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the system
  • Understanding of how the von Neumann architecture, OSI 7 layer model, and software stacks are used in a system's design
  • Understanding of how Cryptography is used to ensure Cybersecurity within the system
  • Ability to apply critical thought in understanding how a system works and where design improvements can increase the Cybersecurity posture of a system's design without negatively impacting functionality
  • Ability to effectively communicate Cybersecurity subject material and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
