Your Role in the Action

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Andromeda Robotics, you'll lead the mechanical design and development of Abi—from concept exploration through to production-ready execution. You'll set the direction for structural, thermal, and actuation systems, ensuring every component meets high standards for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

You'll work hands-on across CAD, prototyping, and testing, collaborating closely with electrical, software, and design teams to build tightly integrated systems. You'll lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and refine our development processes as we scale. This role demands both strategic thinking and meticulous execution—driving hardware that performs under real-world conditions, at scale.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Own mechanical design from concept to production, delivering robust, reliable systems that power Abi's performance.
• Collaborate across electrical, software, and industrial design to integrate motors, sensors, and wiring within tight constraints—without compromising form or function.
• Design joints, mechanisms, and transmissions optimized for mass, stiffness, and cost to ensure smooth, intuitive movement.
• Iterate rapidly through testing, simulation, and reviews to refine real-world performance at every stage.
• Develop documentation, test protocols, and assembly guides to enable seamless scale-up into manufacturing.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
