Responsibilities:

  • DEFECT Process ownership: Monitor DEFECT SPC trends, run correlation and commonality analysis to identify root cause of the defects and promptly take action to prevent inline process excursions. Investigate, manage, and contain defect excursions. Disposition discrepant material.
  • Define defect reduction goals for yield limiting defect types, initiate and execute defect reduction projects based on defect pareto and corresponding kill ratios. Develop Out of Control action plans for critical defect types.
  • Defect Metrology tools ownership. Provide Engineering ownership for defect inspection and review tools. Maintain matching between defect metrology tools, establish tool monitors, and set up recipes. Installation and qualification of new defect metrology tools.
  • Lead cross functional teams to resolve and reduce defectivity levels. Interact and collaborate with Integration, Process, Equipment, Operations and R&D groups on cross-functional projects. Set up process experiments, segmentations, summarize defect data, propose solutions for process improvements.
  • Mentor and teach other engineers and technicians, and benchmark industry practices to bring best known methods to the fab. Manage PETs to support engineering tasks and projects.
  • DEFECT Data analysis using KLARITY ACE Defect or similar SW.
  • Review operational procedures and update SPECs to meet industry BKMs.

Profile:

  • B.S or M.S Engineering Degree with 2+ years of semiconductor process experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Excellent data analysis, analytical problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion, meet deadlines, schedules, and commitments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and able to react to shifting priorities.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment.
  • Statistical analysis skills (t-test, ANOVA, etc.) required, JMP or other statistical SW.

Preference:

  • Experience with Defect inspection and review tools (bright field, dark field, SEM review, etc.).

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $74,400 to $102,300. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors. This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
