The Bioelectronic Platforms Group of the Analog Garage is looking for a process development and integration intern as part of a larger team developing novel hardware for life sciences applications. You will support ongoing process development for glass-based substrates, as well as material and electrical characterization work for initial prototypes. Additionally, you will be involved in helping design the next generation of system-level prototypes through multi-physics simulation, short loop experiments and literature reviews.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Characterize glass-based substrates with electrode array in the lab
  • Design next-generation prototypes of glass-based substate platform
  • Conceptualize short-loop experiments to understand process capability
  • Support system prototyping such as test fixtures for electrical measurements
  • Conduct literature reviews on process challenges
  • Perform mechanical simulations, e.g. warpage

Minimum qualifications

  • Major in Electrical Engineer or related discipline, master's or PhD student preferred
  • Basic understanding of chip making and packaging process flow
  • Hands-on experience of cleanroom fabrication
  • Experience with material and electrical device characterization
  • Experience with prototyping, e.g CAD tools, 3D printing, machining, soldering
  • Good with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint

Bonus qualifications

  • Access to nearby clean-rooms to run short-loop and look-ahead processes
