Job Summary
Evaluate schedule and fleet deployment adjustments to enhance route financial outcomes and operational efficiency, with a specific emphasis on route and service expansion.
Essential Functions
Lead and recommend changes: Use quantitative analyses to suggest schedule, fleet deployment, and other adjustments for Amtrak train operations.
- Develop contacts and gather information: Establish contacts within Amtrak and government partners to vet proposals and assess stakeholder input.
- Apply comprehensive understanding: Utilize thorough knowledge of Amtrak operations, data sources, and interdepartmental relationships.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Lead efforts to develop, implement, and evaluate schedule changes, fleet deployment changes, and expansion plans.
- Lead reviews and assessments: Oversee evaluations of route financial performance and the development of annual schedule and fleet deployment plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in written and oral communication, presentation, facilitation, interpersonal skills, time management, conflict resolution, and investigation
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously using appropriate administrative tools and controls
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, demonstrated
- Outstanding analytical skills and understanding of quantitative concepts
- Skilled in use of personal computer software and applications (including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
