Main purpose of job:
Drive commercial assessment of the early asset pipelines until the BT (Brand Team) is established and ensure a smooth transition of information and assessment outcomes from NPP to the BT
Aim to maximize the potential of new assets by assessing the candidate assets, aligning with corporate strategy, and addressing unmet medical needs in Japan from early development phase
Evaluate the commercial potential of new assets, support strategic market formation, and ensure smooth brand transition
Lead commercial assessment within cross-functional JPST (Japan Product Strategy Team) framework until establishing the Brand Team in Japan
The role helps to inform senior commercial leadership of the commercial viability of new assets/indications
Responsibilities:
Lead communication and discussion with global commercial members on behalf of JPST as commercial representative
Analyze assumed market size in JP for the new candidate assets
Conduct appropriate market research by collaborating with BAI team to understand the current market environment, grasp expectation/concern for the new assets in our target TA (therapeutic area)
Identify future market trend/dynamics in consideration with the new assets over the next several years
Map the current patient journey and analyze future changes if the new assets are available in the market
Assess the asset's feasibility from a commercial perspective (marketability, competitive landscape, positioning, and future business opportunities as well as potential risks we need to address)
Develop and execute market formation strategies
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in marketing or commercial strategy in the pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of market analysis, revenue forecasting, and value proposition construction
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in local
Experience collaborating with global teams/colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in business (MBA), marketing, or related field
Proven track record in successful product launches and market formation
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Both Japanese and English (business level); fluency in speaking, writing and reading
Work Style:
Remote work is supported. However, applicants must be able to commute to the office flexibly when needed. Office attendance is expected on an occasional basis, typically around twice per month.
