Senior Lead Design Engineer

Location: Bangalore, KA, IN, 560048

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Advanced skills in 3D CAD modeling, assemblies, and technical drawings, ideally within SolidWorks.
2. Proven experience designing precision mechanical systems, involving complex assemblies and tight tolerances.
3. Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and additive manufacturing, with proven DFM experience.
4. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and thermal simulations within SolidWorks or other tools for validating and enhancing product design.
5. Strong grasp of GD & T and Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis for high-precision critical Assemblies.
6. Thermal & Vibration Management: Understanding of how to mitigate thermal drift and mechanical vibrations in sensitive instruments.
7. Integration with Electronics: Experience designing mechanical interfaces for PCBs, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
8. CAD File Management Techniques (Solidworks PDM/other PLM tools also acceptable)
9. Knowledge and experience in relevant Industry standards with product qualification experience will be an advantage.
10. Prepare and deliver impactful technical presentations to stakeholders. Facilitate and lead design reviews, ensuring cross-functional alignment and risk mitigation.
11. Research, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies, processes, and methods to support business growth and maintain a competitive edge.
12. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Experience, Education & Tool skills:

1. Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with 8 - 12 years of experience.
2. Strong background in use of CAD Softwares (SOLIDWORKS) – Modelling and Drafting.
3. Knowledge of FEA and ANSYS/Solidworks Simulation.
4. Prior work on analytical instruments, especially mass spectrometers, is highly desirable.
5. Designing components for vacuum environments (e.g., ion optics housings, vacuum chambers).
6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively with Global Team.
