We are seeking a Donor Counselor I for our Charlotte, NC office located at: 13500 South Point Blvd, Ste L., Charlotte, NC 28273.
Monday - Friday 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM with Rotating Saturdays
The salary for this position is $20.24/hr. + Shift Differential (+$1.75 after 3pm, +$1.25 on weekends)
Responsibilities
Scope
Individual contributor that works under close supervision. Use technical knowledge to solve routine types of problems. Represents the Red Cross in interactions with blood donors and the public regarding transmissible diseases.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in health science, quality assurance, or a related field required.
Experience: 1 year of related hospital, laboratory, infectious disease or sexually transmitted disease clinic setting experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Management Experience: N/A
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Specific training in health education, infectious disease counseling, patient education, or equivalent is required. Familiarity with medical terminology required. Intermediate to advanced level computer skills with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment is required.
Travel: N/A
Bilingual is helpful
*Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
Physical Requirements
The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
