Direct Support Supervisor

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a non-profit organization in Haverhill, MA. They are seeking a Direct Support Supervisor to make a difference in the lives of homeless parents and children by helping them to rebuild their lives and reach their fullest potential. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the shelter in the absence of the Program Directors including the supervision of direct care staff, welcoming and conducting intakes/orientations for new families; monitoring and addressing safety issues; and crisis intervention.

Details of the position include:

• Duration: 13 weeks to start, with a strong chance of extension
• Facility Type: Homeless Shelter
• Schedule: Tuesday -Saturday: 3:30pm-11:30pm
• Pay Rate: $21 – $24 based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities (general summary, not all-inclusive):

• Supervising Direct Support Professionals: Ensuring that staff are providing high-quality care and support to clients.
• Training and Development: Providing ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff.
• Client Support: Overseeing the implementation of individualized support plans and ensuring clients' needs are met.
• Administrative Duties: Managing schedules, documentation, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Communication: Acting as a liaison between staff, clients, and families to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
• Problem-Solving: Addressing any issues or challenges that arise in the care and support of clients.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience preferred but not required
• Bi-Lingual Spanish/English preferred but not required
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass CORI and driving records check.
• Physical Demands: The employee must be able to walk up several flights of stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
