This opening will focus on building systems, construction projects, and automation at Ameren's HQ, Operating Centers, and regional support buildings.

This co-op will spend time providing project support and assisting project managers with design review. There will also be some work supporting the O&M team on building-related repairs typically involving electrical systems, HVAC, and building controls. The position will work closely with the department's existing electrical and mechanical engineers. The primary reporting location will be Ameren's St. Louis headquarters with occasional project site visits. The successful candidate can expect to:

  1. Attend project meetings beginning at design and provide feedback based on Ameren standards and expectations.
  2. Review drawings and specs to ensure contracted designers are following standards.
  3. Meet with Operations and Maintenance team to align expectations with project deliverables.
  4. Review and update standards with the assistance of senior engineers.
  5. Provide engineering support to Operations and Maintenance team under supervision of senior engineers.
  6. Understand and provide support for Ameren's Building Automation System for multiple locations.

The options for collegiate employment are: January - August Co-Op

Locations: Ameren is located throughout Missouri and Illinois. Location decisions will be made as soon as possible during the hiring process. If you are selected for an intern or co-op position, please note that Ameren does offer a housing stipend to interns and co-ops who are temporarily relocating, if minimum housing stipend requirements (living & attending school 50+ miles away from your working location) are met.

Qualifications: Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university required with a GPA of 2.5 or above.
