Ameren Missouri's mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area.
The Distribution Engineer is primarily responsible for planning, designing, execution, and project management activities associated with the safe and reliable management of the electrical distribution system as it pertains to system improvements, new business, and maintenance. The Distribution Engineer also ensures compliance with company tariffs, procedures, design standards, and code requirements.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred. Preference is to have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination or have the Professional Engineer (P.E.) License. Three or more years of electric utility distribution, overhead or underground, or related engineering experience preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Working knowledge of corporate computer applications (OAS, CSS, DOJM, ADMS) and DEW preferred. Must possess good customer service, analytical, decision making, communication, organization and human relations skills, and be able to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Compensation Range: $69,300.00 - $168,000.00. This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
