Superintendent Site Support Services (S3D) II - Civil

The Plant Management Site Support Services/Distribs (S3D) operates within the Facility Management organization of WTCC. The S3D Superintendent is responsible for directing field work activities for the selected craft within the S3D group. Superintendents are responsible for safe and environmentally compliant execution of field work activities, reviewing work for quality and completeness, reporting performance, and ensuring procedural compliance. Other duties include front line worker development and mentoring, support for long term planning development, materials support, work schedule updates, and fundamental labor relations.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC.

Major responsibilities/duties/tasks include:

  • Develop work strategies, schedule, and ensure materials are available, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of installed commodities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operations of given scope and assigned personnel.
  • Coordinate with other customers and organizations for planning of work execution and evaluation of impacts.
  • Coordinate with Field Engineering and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedules.
  • Review and support development of work packages, Excavation Permits, Confined Space Permits, LOTO's and other permits.
  • Perform other duties as required by S3D management.
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment.

  • Emergency preparedness- Able to act as the "Site Superintendent" during off shift hours.
  • Perform work as a FWS as pertaining to LOTO activities.
  • Attend cross functional meetings to provide schedule status, and updates to organizations that Site Support Services supports.
  • Monitors assignments to ensure that they are within the agreed scope, schedule and budget and that the work is being performed within outlined policies and expectations.
  • Performs-Supervises the following, excavation and backfill activities, Snow Removal, Weekend coverage, concrete placements, grounds maintenance, janitorial support.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction or other related discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of progressive supervision related experience including, but not limited to DOE experience, construction, maintenance, work package preparation, system turnover, excavations and backfill, facilities support, commissioning, and testing.

In lieu of degree, High School Diploma and 6 years of progressive supervision related experience including, but not limited to DOE experience, construction, maintenance, work package preparation, system turnover, excavations and backfill, facilities support, commissioning, and testing.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in construction methods and processes, and safety compliance.
  • Knowledge and experience with excavation and backfill
  • Knowledge and experience with work packaging, planning and/or scheduling
  • DOE or DOD experience
  • Building maintenance experience
  • Experience supervising Building Trades Crafts

Physical Requirements (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual:

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Amentum visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.)

Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $101,573.67 - $157,957.21 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
