Job Description
Summary
The National Service Trainee will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of community-based digital skills programmes. The trainee will work closely with schools, volunteers, partners, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives such as Coding for Kids (C4K), coding competitions, mentorship programmes, and community outreach projects.
This role provides hands-on experience in programme management, stakeholder engagement, monitoring & evaluation, communications, and event coordination.
Responsibilities
Programme Coordination & Implementation
- Support the planning and execution of community development initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating school partnerships and stakeholder engagements.
- Help manage programme calendars, session schedules, and logistics.
- Support the organization of coding competitions, exhibitions, bootcamps, and outreach events.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Collect and compile programme data (attendance, assessments, feedback).
- Support the preparation of programme reports and impact summaries.
- Assist in tracking KPIs and documenting success stories
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Assist in communication with schools, teachers, parents, and volunteers.
- Support onboarding processes for partner schools and facilitators.
- Help prepare presentations and partnership documents.
- Assist with reaching out to potential donors and sponsors.
Communications & Content Support
- Assist in drafting social media content and impact stories.
- Support documentation of events through photos, short reports, and testimonials.
- Contribute to newsletters and CSR updates.
Administrative Support
- Support documentation management and filing.
- Assist in preparing meeting minutes and follow-up action points.
- Provide logistical support during field visits and programme activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field
- Must be eligible for National Service in Ghana.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic knowledge of digital skills training (e.g., Scratch, HTML, Python) is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for youth development and digital inclusion
